Nelson Mandela Bay is located 763 km east of Cape Town along the Indian Ocean overlooking Algoa Bay. The Nelson Mandela Bay is comprised of Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and Despatch. It has got an estimated population of 1.5 million people making it the fifth largest city in terms of population and the second largest in terms of size.
The Nelson Mandela Bay is also a tourist destination as there are attractions such as;
- Game Viewing at malaria free game reserves such as the Addo Elephant National Park which is located in the Sundays River Valley.
- Water Sport such as sailing, canoeing, scuba diving, kite surfing, snorkelling, wind surfing and angling can be enjoyed through out the year at the Algoa Bay due to the favourable weather.
- Boat trips for those interested in sea life. Here you will experience close encounters with seals, dolphins, whales and sharks.
You can also relax on the beaches. The Humewood beach has twice been awarded Blue Flag Status which is an international award given to beaches which meet the required standards of safety, cleanliness and environment.
